Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is back again, and a very modern problem with this day is being reminded by your social media channels of past relationships that still might linger in the depths of your Facebook albums or adorable tweets.

Not everyone wants to see this kind of content, and so I was thrilled to see this message when I checked Timehop early this morning. (Timehop is one of my most-used apps of 2016, which has continued into 2017.)

I did not have to swipe up to safety and so didn’t – I’ve been with the same person since long before Timehop was even conceived. However, since it is marked as Sponsored, I’m guessing an identification of said sponsor would have been evident had I swiped up? I have checked Timehop over 200 days in a row, and I haven’t found any of their sponsored content or posts to be upsetting or obtrusive, just the way I do not find most of the content offensive on YouTube. This has even led to the channel to get real subs on YouTube. If YouTube continues to keep up with the good work, it shall be an unrivalled social media platform.

Well played, Timehop. I will see you tomorrow.Update: Timehop’s swipe up leads you to a list of life hacks to make yourself feel better if you’re lonely on Valentine’s Day. It’s too long for a screenshot from my phone, but it is very cute.

Instagram Roundup #28

by Jamie Sanford on February 20, 2013

Here are all of the other Instagram Roundups!

I actually had to go into the bank for something. They still have lollipops there! I was really excited.

Will and I are not into Valentine’s Day, but I did find this cute ziploc bag of Reese’s peanut butter cups in my bag when I got to work.

This is a blurry picture that I took of my camera screen of me and Cindy. We were at our friend Wadee’ah’s birthday party, at which I had a blast.

I Skyped in for a family birthday party on Sunday.

I found this Batman mask at Target and naturally had to try it on. I would definitely rock this on the regular if it had fit my head. It was too tight but the look is fabulous. (I just totally found an adult one. Maybe I will be Batgirl for Halloween?)

I got 2 things from the MAC Archie’s Girls collection. This lipstick called Boyfriend Stealer and a Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner in Designer Purple. I am sad I didn’t pick up more since it is almost all sold out.

Things I Love on Valentine’s Day

by Jamie Sanford on February 14, 2011

I’m not a big Valentine’s Day person, I’m lucky and am married to my favorite person. We share the love all year so one day seems silly.

So I’ll post a list of things I love on this day of love.

[youtube 9oI27uSzxNQ]

I love that Arcade Fire won Album of the year at the Grammys! Watch a video for “Ready to Start.”

Pinterest is also fantastic – I have been wanting to have an office for ages so that I could create inspiration boards.  I don’t have that space for myself, but Pinterest lets me create something similar online. Follow me on Pinterest too!

This might seem cold, but it is a stunning day today.  It has been sunny and windy and I have the window open at work!  Fresh air!

I also love how hot Darren Criss looks in Out Magazine.

Finally, a puppy in a croc:

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

by Jamie Sanford on February 4, 2011

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and instead of the normal jewelry or flowers, why not get something more fun and fabulous for the home?  The colors are beautiful and vibrant.

(This is an ideeli deal, so if you click the link it will take you to an invitation to join.  If you’re a member, simply navigate to the O shop in the next 7 days.)

Look at this adorable tea set!  Here’s a better photo:

It’s not just the saucer, even the cup was shaped like a heart!  In addition, the packaging is so fabulous that they included a picture:

Everything is beautifully packaged, so these cups and saucers are something you could add to your tabletop items and still not take up tons of room in your home.

This set is only available on Ideeli during the O shop sale, which ends in 7 days, and is on sale for $45.

Valentine’s Day: Right-Hand Rings

by Jamie Sanford on February 4, 2010

My mother has a beautiful cocktail ring that my father gave her years ago that I’ve always loved.  While many people think that giving jewelry for Valentine’s Day is trite, it does not have to be.  Think about buying the woman in your life a colorful gemstone right-hand ring, something fun and sparkly that might just say “I don’t find you generic.”

All finds today are from, they have a great selection of gemstone jewelry.  All selections purchased now are guaranteed to be delivered by February 13th.  I’ve tried to pick out a variety of styles and sizes, to cover the style and taste of your valentine.

The green amethyst is beautiful and unexpected.
14k Green Amethyst Ring, $349.99.

The cut on this stone is something I have rarely seen.
14k White Gold Blue Topaz Ring, $302.99.

This one is more ornate, and features two types of metal. Love the garnet, it doesn’t get enough love.
Meredith Leigh Sterling Silver and 14k Gold Garnet Ring, $94.99.

This one is both fabulous and a bit understated, perfect for the less flashy individual.
10k White Gold Opal and Diamond Ring, $129.99.

Super modern in both stone cutting and setting.
10k White Gold Blue Topaz and Diamond Ring, $129.99.

Purple amethyst is a classic stone, and the setting here is gorgeous.
Sterling Silver Cushion-Cut Purple Amethyst Ring, $119.99.

I love the combination of blue stones here, and the setting is definitely not your standard fare.
Sterling Silver Sapphire and Blue Topaz Ring, $66.99.
