2015 Tech Wishlist

by Jamie Sanford on November 21, 2015

Holiday wishlist time! I update my Amazon Wishlist all year long, I think myself very useful for giving everyone at least 50 ideas of things I would like to receive. I am perfectly aware that not everyone wants to buy me a $2000 lens, but that’s why it is a wishlist.

Let’s focus on what is on my tech wishlist for 2015.

This retro case for the Sony NEX is great. I have used the NEX so much in 2015, I am sad for my A550.

Not that I want to completely abandon my DSLR. This waterproof case was recommended by the ladies at A Beautiful Mess, and I really want some waterproof housing. When we went to Bermuda and did not have this, I was none too happy about it because the disposable camera was weak at best. This is only $46!

That lens! I love the 50mm for my DSLR, and this is the NEX version.

The last camera item is a wireless remote that would work on the NEX, and both of the SLRs in our home. A steal at $8.

A Fujifilm Instax camera ($59.99) has been on the wishlist for quite some time. I have polaroid cameras in the camera stash but the film is now prohibitively expensive. These are small and fun! I would need some film for it as well ($34.94 for 5 packs of 10).

I would like a podcast studio in my house, and it would definitely include these microphone arm stands ($38.99).

The Fitbit Flex ($87.34) is something I probably should have purchased a while ago. From what I understand, it can replace the use of apps such as Runkeeper and will also track my sleep!

That’s all for my tech wishlist.  I suspect there will be a beauty items wishlist, and then another random list before I’m done!

Personalized Facebook Poster

by Jamie Sanford on October 14, 2010

We all love Facebook now, right?  I use it for work, but mostly, I have been able to reconnect with some old friends who I really thought I had lost for good because of Facebook, and so I love it.

Anyway, just to keep track of your Facebook connections, comes PrintingFacebook.com, where you can order a 20″ x 40″ poster of the profile photos of your Facebook friends.

It’s pretty cool, and a deal at $20.

Check it out here at PrintingFacebook.com.

Owl iPad Sleeve!

by Jamie Sanford on August 9, 2010

I don’t have an iPad and don’t plan on getting one anytime soon.  However, owl item, hello.

This iPad sleeve is made with 3mm designer felt (100% wool). The flap is attached with a metal button. Details are made with 100% wool felt. The sparkles in the eyes are added by Swarovski rhinestones. There is a useful pocket at the front of the sleeve to carry your iPad accessories.

I kind of want to use this as a quirky bag for when I need a crossbody bag for going out and just carrying a few things.  It’s available from etsy seller Boutique ID for $62.

The Blue Mikey iPod Microphone

by Jamie Sanford on April 30, 2010

I am excited about this.

I just recently purchased the Blue Yeti Microphone for a new podcast project, after having had previous good experience with the Blue Snowball Microphone.

UPDATED! (As of July 17, 2012)

The previous version of the Blue Mikey I had mentioned is now outdated, so I’ll share the latest edition that released on September 1, 2012. It’s currently listed on Amazon for $99.99.

Flip UltraHD Camcorder

by Jamie Sanford on April 18, 2010

I won a Flip Cam at a party I attended during Web 2.0 Expo in late 2008.  At the time, they were very hot, and they have only gotten better since then!

Here is the Flip.  It looks easy, right?  It is.

Here’s the back of the Flip.  Look at how few buttons there are!  They are very easy to navigate.  I’m sure I could hand this to my grandmother, who told me last night that she’s “not that technical” and I’m sure she would work it out.  Note the handy USB connection that pops out of the side.

When you’re ready to move the files to your computer, you can just plug it right into your machine and move the files over.  It’s so easy!

Again, I do have a Flip camera, so I can attest to its ease of use.  I do not have this one, the Flip UltraHD, but if I decided I needed a new camera, I would definitely buy this one.

The Flip UltraHD Camcorder is currently available on Amazon for $151.54.
