Instagram Roundup #119

by Jamie Sanford on February 4, 2015

Here are all of the other Instagram Roundups!

I’m going to try out making Instagram Roundups monthly in 2015. Let’s go!

The selfie stick was worth it if only for this shot from NYE.

Art and architecture from Madison Square Park.

Throwback drag show photos of Kiki Kinx. I love the drama.

We returned to estate sailing with possibly the best house we have been to. I think that collectively, we purchased the most things we ever had at one of these. Such an amazing home.

Dolls are wonderful subjects for portraits—I generally like the snarky-looking ones—but this one was just waiting for me in a room in an estate sale house. More fabulous drama.

After an exhausting day of estate sailing, I decided to make tomato sauce. It turned out pretty well! This is the recipe.

The best part about all of this snow is the opportunity for making photos like this one. I love it.

2012: The Year in Instagram (Q4)

by Jamie Sanford on December 30, 2012

Here are all of the other Instagram Roundups!

October

Spent some time drafting pattern descriptions.

New kicks!

We are in the storage unit, again.

Fall Tabletop Market. Lots of Flatiron photos.

Tiffany and John’s wedding.

I got this close to Martha Stewart at the MS Weddings party but she was whisked away before I managed a photo of us together.

Lost Will at the party, then found him at the bar. I really love this photo.

Me and most of the Spices at Tasha’s wedding.

Fall was falling near the end of October.

Then Hurricane Sandy came and took the power away. We were lucky enough to only have to deal with a lack of power for a few days.

I watched this tree fall from my window. We saw lots of trees downed by the storm, but again, we were lucky to have not had any flooding in our immediate area.

November

Unsurprisingly, I voted in the election for Barack Obama.

My favorite fortune of the year.

I tried to make macarons. It didn’t go well.

Perhaps my best clothing purchase of the year was this ASOS Curve owl sweater.

December

Ice wines before the Dave Matthews Band show on December 1. Unfortunately the worst setlist I’ve ever had at a DMB show.

I had a birthday outing at Suite with Jason.

This was the best birthday present.

Getting early Christmas gifts was a lot of fun. I got wonderful MAC stuff from my in-laws.

We traveled to Florida again for the holidays.

My husband and brother scattered deer corn across the pond from my parents’ house to draw in the deer. It totally worked, we saw 4 bucks while we were there.

I hung out with my favorite canine nephew, Cooper.

This amazing picture of Will was probably my most liked image on Facebook this year. That apron isn’t joking.

Went to Weeki Wachee with Mom and Will. I hadn’t seen a manatee in ages so I was really excited about this.

We went to the Sponge Docks after Weeki Wachee. Here’s my mom and I in a Christmas ball – Will is in the back.

We came home to spend the rest of the year avoiding the cold.

It’s December 30, 2012. One more post, a proper recap.

Instagram Roundup #18

by Jamie Sanford on December 12, 2012

Here are all of the other Instagram Roundups!

Snow in November 27th.

Well I hope so!

Tiny Edward makes an appearance.

I found gift cards with balances! Love it.

I got this teeny tiny Lorac lip gloss with an Ulta purchase. I put the Chapstick in the image for scale. It is the cutest thing.

In a showing of epic yuppie-dom, we drank mini icewines on our way into the Dave Matthews Band concert.

We were on the side of the stage. The setlist was disappointing and I had some unfortunate people around me, but it was still OK.

Online shopping – look at this adorable candle holder! I wish I had room for stuff like this.

Rocking my awesome furry hat in the elevator.

Will and I’s birthday dinner was again at The Melting Pot. They gave us birthday cards when we arrived!

…and we got an edible gift before we left.

On my actual birthday, I went out with Jason to Suite. Will stayed home to do schoolwork.

We saw Miz Cracker and Brenda Dharling perform, and this happened. It was amazing. Plus, free birthday shot!

Instagram Roundup #16

by Jamie Sanford on November 21, 2012

Here are all of the other Instagram Roundups!

This was the morning scene, 9 days after a catastrophic tropical storm system. WTF.

I think this margarita was the most impressive part of our meal at Chili’s. Good company too.

The cheese area at Whole Foods is total food porn.

Saw this amazingness at Walgreens.

I liked this fortune a lot.

Went to an amazing local meat shop, which smelled AMAZING. They sell stuff like canned fish, and have giant vats of cole slaw, and dried sausages everywhere. I was there to buy weird boxed potatoes for my grandmother, but I think I should go back and buy something more interesting.

Morning walk past the Flatiron.

Have I talked about how much I love root beer? It’s a lot.

Lunch at Schnipper’s. I can’t resist a photo in a reflective surface.

VH-1’s Greatest One-Hit Wonders of the 90s, part 2

by Jamie Sanford on April 28, 2011

VH-1’s Greatest One-Hit Wonders of the 90s was on last weekend and so we’re onto part 2 of my recap list with videos and commentary.

Click here to access my iTunes Ping Playlist of all of the songs so that you can preview them and buy them from iTunes if you’re so inclined.

20. Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, “Good Vibrations”

I won a contest on the radio after identifying it after hearing 2 seconds of the introduction. Classic video, and the consensus is solid that no one thought Marky Mark would end up being an Oscar-nominated actor after watching him prance around in tighty whities.

19. Len, “Steal My Sunshine”

Summer all year long when you listen to this song.

[youtube E1fzJ_AYajA]

18. EMF, “Unbelievable”

“OH!”

[youtube waacof2saZw]

17. Snow, “Informer”

I love love love David Usher, a Canadian artist who sadly has never achieved gigantic success in the US.  Snow guested on David Usher’s second album on a song I love so much, and it made me love Snow that much more. However, this song for me is all about me and my friend Christina singing it together.

16. Kris Kross, “Jump”

Thankfully I never tried wearing my pants backwards.

[youtube 010KyIQjkTk]

15. Blind Melon, “No Rain”

Another example of a band that would have probably had a great future if they had continued, but unfortunately, Shannon Moon died so soon after this song was such a massive hit.

[youtube 3qVPNONdF58]

14. Wreckx-N-Effect, “Rump Shaker”

Just shake your rump. Go ahead, do it.

[youtube iKKONgfNONU]

13. Red-Nex, “Cotton Eye Joe”

Never liked this song.

[youtube -tIMGBI6oYA]

12. Digital Underground, “The Humpty Dance”

Still totally my jam to this day.

[youtube cj9_yW8tZxs]

11. New Radicals, “You Get What You Give”

[youtube DL7-CKirWZE]

10. Joan Osborne, “One of Us”

[youtube USR3bX_PtU4]

9. House of Pain, “Jump Around”

Still makes me jump, and always will.

[youtube U9Q0jPyrja0]

8. Duncan Sheik, “Barely Breathing”

Love this song – was later a big Spring Awakening fangirl and it was nice to reconnect with Duncan.

[youtube 0TLK-i2X9zw]

7. Vanilla Ice, “Ice Ice Baby”

So bad but oh so good.

[youtube rog8ou-ZepE]

6. Semisonic, “Closing Time”

[youtube xGytDsqkQY8]

5. Chumbawamba, “Tubthumping”

[youtube 2H5uWRjFsGc]

4. Los Del Rio, “Macarena”

I banned this from playing at my wedding. What does that tell you?

[youtube sN62PAKoBfE]

3. Gerardo, “Rico Suave”

More abs ftw.

[youtube b6YE3xkdPR4]

2. Right Said Fred, “I’m Too Sexy”

[youtube 39YUXIKrOFk]

1. Sir Mix-A-Lot, “Baby Got Back”

Everyone likes big butts and they cannot lie when this song is playing.

[youtube k4he79krseU]

Come on everyone, let us know which one-hit wonder is your favorite.
