Sorel Shoe Party

Sorel Shoe Party

I was introduced to Sorel within the last year or so, I saw a few pairs of fabulous snow boots on some bloggers, and I’ve wanted a pair ever since. My current snow boots are too embarrassing to even share, I definitely need an upgrade. Of course, the best way to do this is to have a shoe party and look at my Sorel options.

The description of the Sentry boot is…

Luxe Italian felt is mixed with a casual sneaker vibe for a stylish winter boot with a retro look.

These are not waterproof snow boots, but I’m sharing them because I think they are very cute.  The Sorel Sentry boots are available from Zappos for $130.

These are also not waterproof, but I love that multi-color stripe on the back.

They’ll be forced to give you and your boots a second glance with the smooth, sophisticated look on the front and the fun, eye-catching striped elastic strip on the back of the Sorel® Fernieâ„¢.

These look so warm and cozy, perfect for cold days when I don’t want to wear giant snow boots but need to keep my feet warm.  The Sorel Fernie boots are available from Zappos for $120.

Pink rain boots. What else is there to say?

Slip and slide no more with the extremely durable and versatile Tivoli™ Rain by Sorel®. Waterproof leather and canvas upper for added protection and durability. Fabric lining for added warmth and style.

These are so cute for wet, rainy weather. The Sorel Tivoli rain boots are available from Zappos for $110.

Sorel offers a number of boots that are weather-friendly and have some style. Love.

Take a blast to the past with the retro graphics of the ‘1964 Pacâ„¢ Graphic’ boot from Sorel®. Waterproof suede leather upper for seam-sealed protection. Removable 6mm washable, recycled felt InnerBoot.

These might be the ones I pick. The Sorel 1964 Pac Graphic boots are available from Zappos for $120.

These were my original first pick, I think I saw them on someone else and liked them.  However, my new favorites are up next. These are still super cute though.

Waterproof, full-grain leather upper. Removable 9mm ThermoPlus® felt InnerBoot provides superb warmth, moisture transfer, comfort, and durability. Acrylic/wool blend snow cuff. 2.5mm bonded felt frost plug in the shell to provide an extra layer of insulation and warmth. The frost plug is a 2.5 mm piece of EVA that is in the heel and forefoot. Handcrafted, waterproof, vulcanized rubber shell.

These are serious boots. My feet would be warm for days! The Sorel Caribou is available at Zappos for $130.

Since I would prefer taller boots, I think that Tofino here is the winner.

Functional and fashionable, the Tofino™ by Sorel® gives you the protection, durability and style that you want and deserve. Waterproof waxed canvas upper with leather overlays for unique styling. Charming faux fur cuff. Sherpa Pile lining adds extra warmth. Waterproof leather shell has a comfortable, sneaker-like fit. Non-slip molded rubber outsole gives you the grip and traction that you need on wet surfaces.

Yay! I picked out boots! It’s too bad I didn’t think about this before the freak snowstorm we had over the weekend. The Sorel Tofino boots are available from Zappos for $140.

Which ones do you like the best? Check out all of the Sorel boots on Zappos here.

Alexander McQueen Shoe Party

by Jamie Sanford on September 19, 2011

It’s no secret that I’ve been on a McQueen kick since my two trips to the McQueen exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The current line of shoes are way beyond the point where Lee McQueen was designing, but Sarah Burton seems to have picked up the reins pretty well.  Beautiful things are still coming from the house of McQueen.

Let’s get on with shoes!

It’s not often that the wedge gets to be more than just the wedge.  This detailed wedge is beautiful and sort of subtle.  The Alexander McQueen 3d Black Flower Wedge is on sale for $547.25 from Zappos.

I wear flats with a number of outfits, and they don’t get much better than this. I would probably prefer a silver skull rather than gold though.  Still, I would manage to handle the shoe the way it is.  Alexander McQueen Skull Flat is available for $545 from Zappos.

Talk about shoe as art. Look at that gorgeous wedge and the COLOR, look at the color! Alexander McQueen wedge in Paprika Suede is available for $930 on Zappos.

See! This skull on those flats would be perfect for me.  Oh well, I will have to settle for these crazy beautiful peep-toe heels.  Alexander McQueen Peep Toe Filigree Skull Pumps are available for a serious $1,275 from Zappos.

The whole collection of Alexander McQueen on Zappos is here.  What’s your favorite?

Betsey Johnson Shoe Party

by Jamie Sanford on September 14, 2011

I’ve known about Betsey Johnson and her brand for years and had some Betsey Johnson shoes back in college, but I realized while shopping online that I don’t currently own any Betsey Johnson items.  This needs to change, especially in the shoe department.

Let’s get going with some picks from the Betsey Johnson shoe collection.

I think you can tell that I love a glitter pump.  This one is pretty perfect. The Ruby Pumps with Glitter are on sale for $119 from the Betsey Johnson website.

I grew up in Florida where flip flops are the standard. I still love them during the summer. These are too cute to pass up. The Evaaa flip flops are available for $38 from the Betsey Johnson website.

Skulls+crossbones on a rain boot? I am so in. The Baxterr rain boot is available for $69.95 at the BJ website.

I love a Mary Jane, and this one is leopard print with a fabulous pop of pink. They look like I’d have trouble walking in them, but they’re so cute that I can’t resist.  The Tease-P Leopard Maryjane is $129.95 at the BJ website.

I’m loving so many shoes on the Betsey Johnson website. What’s your favorite?

Irregular Choice Shoe Party

by Jamie Sanford on September 5, 2011

I was introduced to Irregular Choice earlier this year when Gala Darling posted about their shoes after a trip to ENKWSA, a footwear trade show!  This is another brand that is serving a lot of fun color and texture, and none of the shoes in this post cost more than $200.  Let’s check out some standouts that I found on the IC website.

These are a whole season (summer, naturally) in a single shoe.  Ain’t What by Irregular Choice, $145.

I’ll tell you why I love these so much.  They DEFINE how I feel about black items being more than just black.  Look at the heel!  It’s a kitten heel, but the most interesting kitten heel you have ever seen. Drive in Movie by Irregular Choice, $155.

The Anglophile in me loves anything with a Union Jack.  These shoes fit the bill.  Patty by Irregular Choice, $120.

HOLY CRAP look at these.  I wear pants a lot, and I would find a skirt to wear with some dark tights if these shoes were in my life.  Not so much shoes for the office, but that are perfect for a fabulous night out.  Mayhem by Irregular Choice, $195.

Check out the entire Irregular Choice line here.  Which shoes are your pick?

Lisa for Donald J. Pliner Shoe Party

by Jamie Sanford on August 31, 2011

Lisa for Donald J. Pliner is my latest shoe obsession. Introduced to me by Marie Denee, AKA The Curvy Fashionista, this line is designed by Donald’s wife Lisa.  My eye was immediately caught by the fabulous green sole, because it is such a classic, gorgeous shade of green.  Bonus, the shoes are cute too!  I bought a pair of DJP boots last year and they were fast favorites, so I am now a big fan of the brand, and am really excited to see this new line.  Here are a few of my favorites.

These are super fabulous but it’s unlikely that I would be wearing them. The heel is very thin and high.  Loving those flowers though. INK by Lisa for Donald J. Pliner, on sale for $212 at Zappos.

I love a wedge.  They make your calves look good and you can walk in them for more than a block without stopping! KASI by Lisa for Donald J. Pliner, $325 at Zappos.

I saw these platform pumps first and they are my favorite! Plus, black heels are that much more interesting with a bit of texture. RAZ by Lisa for Donald J. Pliner, $315 at Zappos.

Check out the entire DJP collection at Zappos here.  Which are your favorite?
