Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

We meet  Harry Potter, “the boy who lived,” (played by Daniel Radcliffe) and watch him going through his introduction to the magical world and his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He meets Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) and they become fast friends. He learns of why he is “the boy who lived” and faces off against a weak “he who must not be named,” AKA Lord Voldemort.  In this film, Voldemort is trying to resurrect himself utilizing, you guessed it, the Sorcerer’s Stone.

I love this movie because as soon as I watched it, I was totally in.  You are fully encased in the magical world while watching this film, when Harry goes to Diagon Alley for the first time with Hagrid, it’s, you guessed it, magical.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

It’s year 2 at Hogwarts and Harry is the first to discover a message from the “heir of Slytherin.” A dangerous creature is terrorizing the school and turning students and the like into petrified objects. Naturally, this event is also tied to Voldemort, and another attempt of his to return to his former level of power.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

We meet back up with Harry after a time spent with his aunt and uncle and his unfortunate cousin.  (We also meet up with Harry after a growth spurt – this is where the actors started being older than their characters.) Harry accidentally casts a spell on a rude family member and ends up on a magical bus that takes him to the more magical parts of London.  We find out that the big story is that a man named Sirius Black has escaped from Azkaban, the magical prison.  Harry is told not to go looking for Sirius Black, and he is confused.  Harry eventually finds out that Sirius Black played a big part in the life and death of his parents, and so eventually, Harry confronts Sirius.  I’m not spoiling anything!
