The beautyblender® has been a hit for a while now, and since I’m on my second one, I think I can officially call it a Product Pick! My most recent one is a beautyblender® Pro, and I love it just as much as the original.

I was using Bare Minerals powder foundation for a long time, and while the coverage I managed was good, I found that the makeup would become cakey in the wrong weather conditions. I have been trying out a multitude of liquid foundations since then, and am currently utilizing CoverGirl 3-in-1 Foundation. I have been through Revlon, Maybelline, L’Oreal, and even the popular Make Up For Ever HD Foundation, and none of them had the level of coverage and staying power I was looking for, until this latest one. (Please leave recommendations if you have any, but keep in mind that I like some full coverage.)

I did notice quickly, however, that in terms of finish? It is ALL about the beautyblender®. The finish you can get from bouncing the damp teardrop sponge on your face is remarkable and stunning. The pointed end is great for applying and blending foundation and concealer around your eyes. I usually set my liquid foundation with either a matching powder foundation from CoverGirl or this Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder from Tarte, which leaves an incredibly smooth finish.

Anyway, back to the point at hand. I too was one of many who said “why the hell would I spend $20 on a makeup sponge” before buying one when I had a Sephora discount, and now I can never go back. I have tried 2 of the so-called “dupes” and they just do not match up at all. I cannot say enough about how this sponge will take your foundation to the next level, if used properly. YouTube is your friend, and you will find literally hundreds of videos about it. Go try it now! You can buy the beautyblender® here.
