Sephora VIB Sale Wishlist and Product Picks

by Jamie Sanford on November 9, 2016

I can’t believe that I just created a beauty items wishlist without remembering that the biggest sale of the year at Sephora was quickly approaching! I am a VIB member, and will definitely pick a few things up during the sale. If nothing else, it is a great time to replenish stock on things you would buy anyway.

From November 11th through November 14th, you will receive 20% off all in-store and online purchases with code 20VIB.

Here’s my wishlist as well as product picks for items to pick up during the Sephora VIB sale!

2012 Birthday Wishlist

by Jamie Sanford on December 2, 2012

My birthday is coming up soon (December 7th), so here is my fantasy wishlist. My real Amazon wishlist is much more accessible. This one will be about expensive things that I don’t expect anyone to buy me!

I tend to not buy expensive sunglasses, but these are so gorgeous. They are also $290, from Nordstrom.

…except that I just found these for $10.99. Retro City Sunglasses ftw!

Miu Miu Runway Shiny Leather Buckle and Fringe Oxfords – these are on sale for $525 at Saks.

Love the blue and I want to touch the leather. Balenciaga Arena Giant 12 Rose Gold Velo in Bleut, $1,895 at Barney’s.

SO COOL. iPhone speaker doc that uses a vintage gramophone. $422 from ReAcoustic on Etsy.

I have wanted this for years. A pop girl piece by Hulbert Waldroup. A commissioned one would be even better.

Something else I have lusted after for a while. The Lancaster Leather Sofa from Restoration Hardware – the super deep Luxe edition. A mere $4,175.

I love Konstantino jewelry, and definitely would love this London Blue Topaz Crown Ring for $850. Neiman Marcus has a great selection of Konstantino jewelry.

The last item are these Miu Miu jeweled suede platform sandals. Also from Neiman Marcus, for $2100. These are a bit much but they remind me so much of a pair of YSL shoes that I was obsessed with years ago, so I want them.

That’s all – I will be spending a lot less money for my birthday but I intend on having fun which is priceless! Have a good week everyone.

Sights & Sounds: Prada Edition

Sights and Sounds #36

So, if I had to pick one designer to make my wardrobe, it would have to be Prada.  Over the years, I’ve loved many collections and items, and yet have never owned anything from Prada or the (sort of) diffusion line, Miu Miu, which I’m also obsessed with.

Anyway, I watched the Prada Fall 2012 Runway show live online, and you should watch it now:

Now Prada has released their campaign video for this collection, which is also amazing.

Fabulous, right? Fall is my favorite season for weather, fashion, everything. I can’t wait to get my boots out again, I am over the summer.

Prada Ready-to-Wear Collection, Spring 2012

I won’t be wearing this Prada skirt that I love.

As much as I read and enjoy many fashion blogs, I have trouble identifying with most things during Fashion Week. As most of the designers showing collections do not cater to plus-size women, it’s mostly a giant tease for those of us that fall into that category. (I would love to hear more about this from the plus-size fashion bloggers attending Fashion Week, because part of me just doesn’t understand the appeal.) Sure, I can be “inspired” by a look from the runway, but what if I want that exact skirt? Well, I’m SOL because the sizes are limited.

That being said, a collection that is a perfect example of this is the Prada ready-to-wear collection presented in Milan last week.  I think there are a lot of people in the fashion industry who look down on fat people, who think just like Tom Ford does, but perhaps they aren’t inviting trouble by being vocal about it. Is Miuccia Prada the same way – and also, is she against making money? Because I have a feeling that some of these pieces, sized up, would make a killing.

Here are my other picks from the Prada show that I will not be wearing anytime soon. (All photos via Style.com.)

Love this skirt. I guess I can have that bag, since the bag doesn’t care what size I wear.

Skirt + jacket.

Not so much with that bandeau top, but that skirt is gorgeous.

This skirt might be even better. Gorgeous.

Is that pleated, flowy leather? Want.

I wouldn’t wear it over a bathing suit, but I would wear this coat to death.

Not gonna lie, I’m sad now that I won’t be obtaining any of these pieces without starving myself for 6 months.  I have heard that designers have to do so much more work to make pieces in sizes that are bigger than the norm, but a pleated skirt like those heavily featured at Prada cannot be that challenging to size up. However, I’m not a designer, I don’t sew at all, so I don’t know about sizing clothing.

I’d love to hear from plus-size girls/bloggers with their thoughts on this!

New segment! Fantasy shopping.

by Jamie Sanford on July 12, 2010

It’s been harder than I imagined, keeping up with trying to keep The Daily Wishlist daily.

So I’m trying to branch out. Again, I would love to have suggestions coming in for items and even websites for me to feature, so please feel free to email me – thedailywishlist (at) gmail (dot) com.

For the most part, I’ve tried to stick with items that are realistic for most people to buy, with some expensive but fun things thrown in there.  However, since “wishlist” is in the site’s name, I’m going to go ahead and plan to write posts with things that are, for the most part, fantasy items.  The first post will focus on extraordinarily expensive shoes and a handbag, because this is what I gravitate to, but I’m open to anyone’s fantasy items – send me the link and I’m happy to feature it.

Prada Motorcycle Boot
, $850.

Christian Louboutin Jeweled Sandal, $2395.

Marc Jacobs Tweed Sequin Bag, $2350.
