Las Vegas Vow Renewal Recap

by Jamie Sanford on November 19, 2011

There’s been a lag in posting the last few days, it has been crazy with catching up after our trip to Las Vegas!

However, we had a blast so I’ll share some of the photos here with a little bit of story attached.  While our whole trip was fun, I will focus only on 11-11-11, our anniversary and the date of our vow renewal!  (Warning – photo heavy!)

Starting the day with mimosas at Mon Ami Gabi at Paris.

Also, I had bananas foster crepes that were crazy.

Not my husband, but my BFF David. He and I walked around, I contemplated a tattoo, then I watched him play poker. Then went back to my room to wait for my hair and makeup crew from Makeup in the 702.

BAM! Those ladies are amazing. In just an hour they made me look super glamorous! I need them in my life all of the time.

David came back to take Will and I out to take some photos. All of my favorites are the ones where we are cracking up.

As always, I put sunglasses on my head and didn’t think about them again. Also, Will and I had to take our standard “at arm’s length” photo.

I love this one – chin be damned!

This one too.

We got to the hotel attached to the chapel and there was, naturally, a cosplay convention happening there. Totally perfect and amazing.

This is pre-renewal at the gazebo. Aren’t my flowers pretty?

This is our Elvis. He was fantastic.

Elvis sang “All Shook Up” as the opening to the ceremony. My dad danced me down the aisle. It was really fun.

None of the pictures show my dress too well because I was cold and wore my black velvet blazer the whole time. Oh well. Here we are with our parents after the ceremony.

Here you can see our new rings! Neither of us are replacing our original wedding rings, we now just have extras.

IMAG0338
I ended up in a limo with 6 boys to go back to our hotel. I wish this was in focus, but you get the idea.

Tiny Edward made an appearance at dinner.

From last night during dinner...
This also happened at dinner.

So, you can probably see that it was nothing traditional, but very fun and frivolous. Everyone loved Elvis, and especially enjoyed that we picked “Suspicious Minds,” which is about thinking that your lover is cheating on you, in the middle of our ceremony. Mostly we just liked the song and didn’t want anything slow.

We’ve already been asked about another renewal in 5 years. …and I just found out that it falls on a Friday. This might be a repeating situation!

Video: Britney Spears, “Criminal”

by Jamie Sanford on October 20, 2011

Video: Britney Spears, “Criminal”

Britney Spears is one of my favorites. I enjoy pop music and what she delivers is consistent, fun and sexy.  This new video for “Criminal” is no different.  Shot in London, it stars Britney and her real-life boyfriend Jason Trawick as a couple who meet and quickly fall in love and become wanted and hunted by British law enforcement.  It is really sexy, and since I can’t seem to embed the video, here are some screenshots.

Pretty Britney’s beauty shot.  Love her eye makeup.

Sexy Jason takes Britney back to his lair, and they get it on.

Britney takes Jason’s gun to the convenience store and decides to commit a crime.

She’s mad and she wants money! NOW!

Cut to sexy Britney in that doorway.

Then we get to the part where Jason and Britney are naked and HOT in the shower.  Damn.

This is what happens when you make a video with your real-life man, and don’t have issues with nudity because you’re both hot.

Still so pretty.  Also, I want my hair to look like that.

The London police find them and shoot up the place while Jason and Britney make out and then escape.

Go watch the “Criminal” video here. This video gets a 9/10.  This is one of my most favorite Britney videos in AGES.

Nothing But Trouble (100 Films in 2011)

by Jamie Sanford on October 10, 2011

75. Nothing But Trouble (available for streaming on Netflix and Amazon Instant Video)

Here is the trailer for Nothing But Trouble.

[youtube o0Q1vQkJqC8]

Nothing But Trouble is a movie I had completely forgotten about, but was reminded of by my wonderful friend Tiffany.  I watched this movie on a sketchy VHS a lot of times, because I didn’t remember the beginning so much.  Anyway, the story centers around Chevy Chase, a financial publisher (important distinction) and Demi Moore, a lawyer who has been screwed over by her client/boyfriend.  They intend to crash an event in Atlantic City, end up taking some of Chevy Chase’s Brazilian clients with them on their road trip.

A little detour for a picnic results in a high-speed chase, a pat-down by John Candy, and a trip to a little town called Valkenvania. They have a showdown with a creepy judge played by Dan Akroyd, who is scary and a bit gross in this movie.

They get detained for the night, and the rest of the movie is dealing with a giant crazy mansion, bizarre characters, and an appearance by Digital Underground, which at the time featured a young Tupac Shakur.  This movie nearly defines the word random.

Nothing But Trouble is available on DVD from Amazon for $5.98.

F-ck: A Documentary (100 Films in 2011)

by Jamie Sanford on October 3, 2011

69. F*ck: A Documentary (not available to stream via Netflix or Amazon)

Here is the NOT SAFE FOR WORK trailer for F*ck: A Documentary.

[youtube YjrGvevp5kc]

F*ck: A Documentary is an examination of the alleged origin of a vilified word that is quite popular.  Broken into chapters about different dislikers of the word, it is full of interviews with both proponents and opponents of the word.  All in all, it is very entertaining.

Hunter S. Thompson, who the film is dedicated to, shares his wisdom in F*ck: A Documentary.

Other notable interviewees in the film are Tera Patrick, Kevin Smith, Drew Carey, Sam Donaldson and Alanis Morissette.  There isn’t much more about it I want to say – it’s something you would either be interested in watching, or totally not.

F-ck: A Documentary is available on DVD from Amazon for $9.58.

Realness Report: Fashion Week, Kristen Stewart, Gaga

by Jamie Sanford on September 12, 2011

New feature! I have been sucked into the term “realness” from watching too many episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race, RuPaul’s Drag U, etc.

You can see the origin of talking about realness in terms of “passing” in this clip from Paris is Burning.

[youtube 0wFG8WsJQvA]

In this instance, realness I’m talking about is encapsulating a look or attitude from another person, culture, situation, etc.  It’s a broader definition, but it works for me and let’s go with it.

“Just out of the shower with a hangover” realness at the Alexander Wang Spring 2012 show at New York Fashion Week.

Kristen Stewart looks AMAZING in this month’s W Magazine, but as you can see from the picture, she is giving lots of Priscilla Presley realness.  Click here to check out the rest of the photos and an interview with Kristen.

Carnation realness from Lady Gaga.  Come on, look at that hat.  (In all seriousness though, how beautiful does Gaga look here? She looks fabulous with a pale lip and that blond hair, for about a week she looked just beautiful, without distracting from it with her fashion extremes.  I appreciate that part of Gaga too, but I really loved this look.)

Hook it up on Facebook with your suggestions!
