Nirvana: Teen Spirit Interviews (100 Films in 2011)

by Jamie Sanford on December 12, 2011

91. Nirvana: Teen Spirit Interviews (available to stream on Netflix)

I cannot find a trailer for this “movie.” I’m not sure it was ever meant to be something beyond a random DVD release.  Not surprisingly, I don’t have much to say about it.  I very much enjoyed Nirvana when they were active and releasing albums, and was devastated at Kurt‘s untimely end.  I was expecting more from this collection of interview footage, but about half of it is MTV interviews that I had seen before.

I have watched a number of documentaries about Kurt’s death, his relationship with Courtney Love, and how she might have been tied to his death, and obviously was still interested in more content related to the band. Unfortunately, this felt like a re-run for the most part.  I think only the most die-hard Nirvana fan, looking for a few more seconds of footage they haven’t seen, would really appreciate this.

That being said, Nirvana: Teen Spirit Interviews is available on DVD from Amazon for $9.95.

Video: Britney Spears, “Criminal”

by Jamie Sanford on October 20, 2011

Video: Britney Spears, “Criminal”

Britney Spears is one of my favorites. I enjoy pop music and what she delivers is consistent, fun and sexy.  This new video for “Criminal” is no different.  Shot in London, it stars Britney and her real-life boyfriend Jason Trawick as a couple who meet and quickly fall in love and become wanted and hunted by British law enforcement.  It is really sexy, and since I can’t seem to embed the video, here are some screenshots.

Pretty Britney’s beauty shot.  Love her eye makeup.

Sexy Jason takes Britney back to his lair, and they get it on.

Britney takes Jason’s gun to the convenience store and decides to commit a crime.

She’s mad and she wants money! NOW!

Cut to sexy Britney in that doorway.

Then we get to the part where Jason and Britney are naked and HOT in the shower.  Damn.

This is what happens when you make a video with your real-life man, and don’t have issues with nudity because you’re both hot.

Still so pretty.  Also, I want my hair to look like that.

The London police find them and shoot up the place while Jason and Britney make out and then escape.

Go watch the “Criminal” video here. This video gets a 9/10.  This is one of my most favorite Britney videos in AGES.

Sights and Sounds #13

by Jamie Sanford on May 4, 2011

Sights and Sounds #13 is ready to go.  Always some videos and pictures to share.

[youtube MTlWtG8qXvo]

Check out Makael and Kevin of the Skorpion Show, and their review of Beyonce’s new single “Girls(Who Run the World)” and it is one of the funniest things ever. I LOVE it when people are so passionate about the pop culture icons that they love, I know I’ve been taunted for loving Britney Spears this much, so I gotta give it up to Kevin and Makael.

Lady Gaga was on Ellen – here’s the full interview.

As if I wasn’t excited enough about Britney Spears going on tour with Nicki Minaj, now Nicki kills it on the “Till the World Ends Remix” which also features Ke$ha.  LOVE.  (We need a video please!)

And a darling gif from Pretty in Pink.

Sights and Sounds #13 has come to a close. Please leave links, images, etc on the Facebook page for future Sights and Sounds posts.

Concert movies count as movies right?

The Palladia network was showing Pink’s Funhouse Tour Live in Australia and so I watched it.

Here’s the trailer for the DVD:

14. Pink, Funhouse Tour Live in Australia (Not available to stream on Netflix)

I’m assuming that many people who aren’t into pop music would write Pink off as one in a group of female pop stars.  However, you don’t have to go too far beyond that to find out that she is a pretty fantastic singer and songwriter.  This show takes it to a whole new level, as you find out that she’d be just as great as a member of the circus.  Her aerial abilities are demonstrated throughout the show, and amazingly, she sings while she’s doing it all!

Here’s a video of Pink, performing “Sober” while flying around, hanging upside down, etc.  Amazing.  This is from a European stop on her tour.

So I would definitely recommend a viewing of this to anyone who wants to see a really great show.  Pink sings, has personality, dances, has personality and showcases her amazing body.  I liked her a lot before, she seemed to buck the system just enough so that she is still successful but in such a way that she still gets to be herself.

Get to watching this!

The Pink, Funhouse Tour Live in Australia DVD is available from Amazon for $25.98.

Sights and Sounds #1

New post for Sundays!

First up, the Volkswagon commercial that I’ve watched 5 times today.  This kid is brilliant and when he passes his Dad to go use the force on the car? That’s incredible.

Second, here’s a great video of my favorite figure skater Johnny Weir on Lopez Tonight, where he and George Lopez switch outfits.

My girl Britney Spears is back, and is teasing us for the next 12 days before the video for her hit single “Hold It Against Me” is released.  Here is today’s teaser video:

I was also exposed to a hot remix of “Hold It Against Me” – The Robots with Rayguns remix.  You should listen to it.

Last one – an oldie from the 90s.  I randomly heard this song during a trip through the shuffle setting on my iPod last week, and damn if it isn’t a great song.  I give you “Selling the Drama” from Live.
