Las Vegas Vow Renewal Details | 11-11-16

by Jamie Sanford on December 26, 2016

I’m finally posting photos of our 10th anniversary vow renewal! It’s been a month already! This post is dedicated to the details.

These photos were made by me, taken with the Sony Alpha a550.

I am brewing a blog post about my forays into making, and earlier projects from the year made me believe that I could make this bouquet. While I was at it, I made the boutonniere for William.

Some of the flowers had dice in the center, some had rhinestones.

The bottom looked unfinished, so I was able to utilize some beautiful poker chips to dress it up.

These beautiful ears are the Liberace ears by Rock ‘n Roll Bride for Crown and Glory.

This champagne was great for photos but did NOT taste good at all. My sunglasses are from Amazon!

Our new rings are from Apples of Gold. We bought our original weddings bands from Apples of Gold 10 years ago!

I’ve had the belt for years and do not remember where it was purchased. The dress is an anomaly – after searching for months to find a dress that was what I wanted, I bought random dresses from Amazon and this was the perfect one.

One more post coming up – this one will be about our experience at the Little Church of the West.

Las Vegas Vow Renewal Portraits | 11-11-16

by Jamie Sanford on December 16, 2016

I’m finally posting photos of our 10th anniversary vow renewal! It’s been a month already! I’ll start with our portrait session images.

Photos by David FM Vaughn. Taken with the Sony Alpha a550.

I started preparations with a hair and makeup team from Makeup in the 702. I haven’t talked about it specifically on the blog, but I really love this blue hair. It feels totally right for me.

William, meanwhile, found the best jacket ever at Macy’s of all places.

We finished getting ready and posed for some portraits. My ears are from the Liberace kitty ears from the Rock n Roll Bride collection by Crown and Glory. I made my bouquet and Will’s boutonniere myself.

I love this one.

The casino at The Flamingo was a convenient backdrop for photos.

Posing outside. After searching for a dress for months, the one I liked the most was from Amazon.

The ones where we are clearly having fun are the best.

When the police car is just sitting there, you have to.

So many neon signs, so little time.

More from the ceremony and the details coming soon!

Las Vegas Travel Essentials | Las Vegas Vow Renewal

by Jamie Sanford on October 24, 2016

It has been almost 5 years since we were in Vegas, renewing our wedding vows on our 5-year anniversary.

We leave in a few weeks to go to Las Vegas to renew our vows again and enjoy time with the 28 people that will be coming along with us! I figured it would be a good time to come up with a post full of essential items and some overall style tips for Las Vegas.

Instant cameras! This is a bit retro, but they are FUN, and the photos are great souvenirs.

Sunglasses. It is the desert so this is obvious, but this might be a good time to live your sunglasses fantasy. One of my favorite things about Las Vegas is that the decadence of everything makes me want to take things to the next level, when I wouldn’t normally do so in my everyday life. If you need to keep it simple, get some flashy sunglasses.

Sequinned accessories. Shine and sparkle are accepted and encouraged, so why not?

Themes! We are staying at the Flamingo, and I must have it on the brain because I find myself noticing any and all flamingo things that I see.

Non-athletic sneakers. I cringe every time I see someone in a touristy location trying to make their running shoes work as stylish footwear. It does not work. Please go find some cute sneakers that are going to be comfortable as well as better looking than your gym shoes. I am partial to Vans, they are my favorites.

Let me know what your Las Vegas style tips and essentials are on Twitter!

Las Vegas Vow Renewal | Blue Suede Shoes

by Jamie Sanford on September 28, 2016

Time really does fly, as it has now been nearly 5 years since William and I renewed our wedding vows on 11-11-11, our 5-year anniversary. We had such a good time that we are doing it again for our upcoming 10-year anniversary.

I am completely undecided about what I will be wearing. We will be having some portraits taken, so I’m tempted to go more formal, but at the same time, I was thinking that festive casual might be the better choice, for ease of movement and comfort throughout the evening. Either way, I did learn my lesson about heels last time. I either need to bring flat shoes with me or just wear flats for the whole event.

I digress. The more important factor here is that this is an Elvis wedding. We have a full Elvis ceremony, where Elvis will be performing the ceremony and singing multiple songs. Obviously, it seems like the right time for, you guessed it, blue suede shoes.
