Christian Louboutin Lady Peep Geek Pump

by Jamie Sanford on August 18, 2012

Shoe party of 1 today. Check out other shoe parties here.

I got an email from Neiman Marcus to show me this shoe in particular, and I’m sort of upset about the name?

It seems crappy to call it Geek. I think it should be Circuitry or something. Christian Louboutin Lady Peep Geek Pump, $1,695 at Neiman Marcus.

Either way, it is incredibly fabulous. I could not walk in these at all, but I am especially enamored with the detail of the metallic red at the bottom of the toe opening. Classy touch there, Mr. Louboutin.

I will have a bigger Christian Louboutin shoe party coming up soon. I love so many pairs in the new fall collection. I am also living right now for some Prada and Miu Miu shoes, all of which are well beyond my price range.

What do you think of the Geek?

Poetic Licence Shoe Party

by Jamie Sanford on August 24, 2011

Poetic Licence is today’s featured brand for the shoe party! I discovered this brand during some random browsing, and the colors and cute designs of the shoes, paired with heels that wouldn’t kill me, are really appealing.

These remind me of a much more fabulous version of ye olde shoes worn by the nation’s forefathers.  Plus, a wonderful feature that shows up on a number of Poetic Licence shoes is the bit of wedge within the heel – great for stability. Sweet Ending by Poetic Licence, $109.25 at Zappos.

Hello green texture with a touch of turquoise! LOVE. Charm School by Poetic Licence, $109.25 at Zappos.

I just purchased these to be my Las Vegas vow renewal shoes, because black + white + red x polka dots = fabulous. Apple Pie by Poetic Licence, on sale for $78.40 at Zappos.

What shoe brands do you love? Leave me a note in the comments on brands I should check out.

Missoni for Target – My Picks

by Jamie Sanford on August 12, 2011

Target has released the look book for the upcoming Missoni collaboration on their Target Style Facebook page.

Naturally, I felt the need to pick favorites, to prepare myself for potential online shopping – I don’t dare attempt to go into a store to find things.

Let’s get on with my Missoni for Target picks.

These heels.  Mostly black but with a little something, a heel I won’t fall over in, and a gorgeous print on the inside? I’m in.

I don’t have kids, and I don’t know anyone with a baby girl that’s still a baby and not a toddler. However, I wish I did because this is the cutest little outfit!

So far, Missoni for Target is making me covet things that aren’t in my life, like little girls and a guest room for this fabulous bedding.

This robe isn’t just for bedtime right? I kind of want to wear it with a tank top underneath.

My response to things that are black and white is pretty Pavlovian.  I’m sure I’ve mentioned it on the blog before, but we went with black and white for our wedding (since I wear black 98% of the time, and I couldn’t get away with wearing black to my own wedding, it seemed like the best alternative) so I gravitate toward all things black and white.

Right, remember what I said about the black and white? That rug is calling my name.

Since heinous rain in NYC finished off my umbrella this week, I need a new one.  This is the only Missoni for Target item that I could justify purchasing out of actual need.

I don’t have any outdoor space, but now I need a patio to go with this patio set.  This is not much of a stretch from things I usually want from Target, I have been known to sit and relax in the patio furniture section when they have everything set up and fabulous. Of course I need a giant tent to hang out in all summer.

The full Missoni for Target lookbook can be seen here.  The collection comes into stores and Target.com on September 13th.

Fluevog Munster Shoes

by Jamie Sanford on April 18, 2011

Fluevog shoes were mostly not known to me before a few months ago.  I saw an interview with a blogger who mentioned her trumpet-heeled Fluevog shoes and I started searching.  So I made my way to the Fluevog website and found these monsters.

They will be mine, oh yes, they will be mine. (Bonus points to anyone who gets that reference and leaves a comment.)

Excuse my incredibly blurry screenshot from YouTube, That’s Madonna, wearing the Fluevog Munster shoes in the infamous documentary Truth or Dare.

These are giant leather Pilgrimmy shoes and they have the most fabulous flared trumpet heel!

They’re a bit pricey at $319 but I would wear the hell out of these.  I don’t last long in stilettos but give me a bigger heel and I get to be taller and my feet last much longer.

The Fluevog Munster heels are available in black leather and purple suede for $319 from the Fluevog website.

Christian Louboutin Shoes for the Ages

by Jamie Sanford on February 11, 2011

Christian Louboutin shoes are really expensive. I am not rich. Therefore, it is unlikely that I will own many/any Christian Louboutin shoes.

But they’re so fabulous!

I nearly bought Christian Louboutin kitten heels for my wedding.  I couldn’t wear big heels because I didn’t want to tower over my husband who is only slightly taller than me, and they were black so I knew I’d wear them again.  I ended up not getting them because spending another $700 on something whilst in the crazy spending that comes with a wedding was not a good idea.

However, I’ve always thought that if I was going to spend this much money on shoes that I should pick something that I know I could use a lot, that would be fabulous but also would work in multiple areas of my life.  Work, play, etc.

So these are my new obsession.  These are the Christian Louboutin Metallic Watersnake Pumps.  The shape of the shoe is very classic, but the snakeskin texture makes it interesting.  The heel is only 3.25 inches, which is high enough to give you the benefits of the heel without being a 5-inch heel that will likely cause my death.

Unfortunately they are also $995.

I could buy the similar shoe in black, available for $595, and I know that these shoes are crafted not just made, so they aren’t just black pumps, but I’m not here for that. I want special shoes.

Can you even imagine this movie without those shoes?  Dorothy had special shoes and I want some too.
