Sephora by OPI GLEE Collection (Product Review)

A few months ago, I was lucky enough to win the “Sephora Hot Now” sweepstakes on Facebook.  I received a package of 7 full-size products from Sephora, one of which has emerged as the clear favorite – a .5 fluid-ounce bottle of Sephora by OPI from the GLEE collection, in a beautiful blue color called Slushied.  Here’s a post on the PolishAholic with swatches of nearly the entire GLEE collection.

I am no stranger to bright and bold nail colors, so I was excited that this bottle came in my package from Sephora!  I immediately tried it and liked it, but I decided to write about it now because I just decided to use it again and I’m thrilled with the results.

Don’t judge my nail polish application skills, I am no professional.  The decal on my ring finger is from a package I purchased from Walgreens, the brand is Broadway Nails.

The color is totally opaque after 2 coats, and the polish levels itself pretty well, which is good for those of us with less than perfect painting abilities.  The decals were an afterthought, but they are a great way to add something interesting with minimal effort.  I put a little sticker on over the polish and then threw up some Seche Vite top coat and I was good to go.

I think I’ll definitely be trying to pick up a few more of these Glee polishes from Sephora.  The .5 fluid-ounce bottles of the GLEE collection nail polishes from Sephora by OPI are available for $9.50 each from Sephora and Sephora.com.

Disclosure: I won the bottle of GLEE collection nail polish in a contest I entered on the Sephora Facebook page.  I bought the decals and the top coat myself.

Sights and Sounds #22

Finally the video for my favorite song from the Kanye West My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album, “Monster,” is here.

My girl Naya Rivera, who I love on Glee, got a record deal. Good for her.

Beyonce’s next single is “Best I Never Had.” I’m sort of eh on it.

Even better from Beyonce is the amazing video that Jay-Z took backstage at the American Idol finale. This was a rehearsal! Insane.

Sights and Sounds #19!

So, Aqua is apparently back? This is the video for their new single, “How R U Doin?

So far, “The Edge of Glory” might be my favorite song from the new Lady Gaga album.  More on that later.

So , I grew up listening to Barbra Streisand because my mom and grandmother love her. I have to admit, I don’t think I’ve seen Lea Michele go wrong with any of the classic Barbra songs, and she did “My Man” really well on Glee last week.

Curvy girl of the week is Kat Dennings, who looked crazy hot at the Thor premiere.

Sights and Sounds #12 already. Time flies when you’re posting random videos from the internet.

I forgot to share the “dance version” of Britney’s new video for “Till the World Ends.”

Speaking of Britney dancing, her upcoming tourmate Nicki Minaj loves some wigs, and the MTV Buzzworthy blog is serving up a gallery of her greatest hair hits.

Dear Adam Lambert,

No.

Love, Jamie

Glee girls on the cover of Marie Claire. Love that Amber Riley made it, but would love to see Jenna Ushkowitz, Naya Rivera and Heather Morris as well.

This kid is my hero.  Dancing right there in the Apple store, my favorite bit is when he turns around and dances at the girls behind him like “HEY” as opposed to being embarrassed about it.

Sights & Sounds #2

by Jamie Sanford on February 13, 2011

Sights and sounds for this week!

First up, the audio recording of the big Glee halftime number. No, not the terrible halftime show on the actual Superbowl, the superior one that was put on later on Glee.  That show has been a little up and down but that number was STELLAR.  It’s a mashup of “Thriller” and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “Heads Will Roll” and I really enjoyed it.

You can watch the full post-Superbowl episode of Glee here.

Speaking of Glee, Amber Riley looks fierce in this photo from Essence!

I really enjoyed Adele’s first album, and you can listen to her new album in full on NPR.

Outtakes from the Mini Darth Vader Volkswagen commercial! I love that kid so much.

My Uncle John sent me this video. Seeing as me and my Blackberry are always in a fight these days, I enjoyed it.

These kinds of things always make me feel better about myself in pictures.  This does look like less work than I’ve seen on other people though.

Grammys are on on tonight! I’m excited to see Lady Gaga perform her new song:

Have a good week everyone!
