Awesome VHS Laptop Skin

by Jamie Sanford on October 27, 2010

Continuing on a bit of a retro 80s vibe after the Back to the Future post, this laptop skin from Infectious is amazing!

Who didn’t have this exact scene happening in their video storage area in the 80s?  I was at my parents’ house a few weeks ago and I saw a few tapes labeled just like this!

For anyone not familiar with laptop skins, they are like Colorforms, another 80s classic.  The skin is like a window cling that sticks to the outside of your laptop.  They are really easy to apply and offer great customization without the crazy expense that you can get from buying a computer with a skin already on it.

The VHS tape skins range in price from $19.99 to $29.99 depending on laptop size.

Audyssey iPod Dock

by Jamie Sanford on October 25, 2010

No theme this week – just going to show everyone some things I’ve been looking at but that didn’t fit into a theme.

First up, the Audyssey Audio Dock.

Sexy, right? I thought so too.

There is a lot of other information available on the website.  The Audyssey doesn’t end up in stores (Apple stores only, apparently) until November, and according to Engadget it will retail for $399.

You can sign up for emails to find out when it is available here.

Owl iPad Sleeve!

by Jamie Sanford on August 9, 2010

I don’t have an iPad and don’t plan on getting one anytime soon.  However, owl item, hello.

This iPad sleeve is made with 3mm designer felt (100% wool). The flap is attached with a metal button. Details are made with 100% wool felt. The sparkles in the eyes are added by Swarovski rhinestones. There is a useful pocket at the front of the sleeve to carry your iPad accessories.

I kind of want to use this as a quirky bag for when I need a crossbody bag for going out and just carrying a few things.  It’s available from etsy seller Boutique ID for $62.

Flip UltraHD Camcorder

by Jamie Sanford on April 18, 2010

I won a Flip Cam at a party I attended during Web 2.0 Expo in late 2008.  At the time, they were very hot, and they have only gotten better since then!

Here is the Flip.  It looks easy, right?  It is.

Here’s the back of the Flip.  Look at how few buttons there are!  They are very easy to navigate.  I’m sure I could hand this to my grandmother, who told me last night that she’s “not that technical” and I’m sure she would work it out.  Note the handy USB connection that pops out of the side.

When you’re ready to move the files to your computer, you can just plug it right into your machine and move the files over.  It’s so easy!

Again, I do have a Flip camera, so I can attest to its ease of use.  I do not have this one, the Flip UltraHD, but if I decided I needed a new camera, I would definitely buy this one.

The Flip UltraHD Camcorder is currently available on Amazon for $151.54.
