100 Films in 2011: Pretty in Pink

by Jamie Sanford on February 3, 2011

I think I’m officially behind since I’m only on the 7th movie and it is February.  I think it might snow some more this weekend, so perhaps I’ll watch and write about some more movies.

7. Pretty in Pink (not available to stream on Netflix)

First, let’s take a look at the trailer:

OK, so this has given you a really good idea of what happens in this movie.  Molly Ringwald is gorgeous but from the wrong side of the tracks.  She falls for cute rich boy and issues ensue – while her best friend (Jon Cryer) is in love with her the whole time.

I had totally seen this movie before, because hello, it is an 80s John Hughes movie.  This is in required viewing for any teenager – along with Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and the best movie ever made about high school, The Breakfast Club.

The “Everything’s Duckie” edition of the DVD is available for $7.99 from Amazon.

I would be remiss in not mentioning the soundtrack to this movie, which is also awesome and features some OMD.

The Pretty in Pink soundtrack can be purchased for $7.99 from Amazon.
