The concept of dry shampoo was weird to me for a long time, until I tried out this very expensive Oscar Blandi dry shampoo a few years ago. My mind was blown at how it did just what was promised, which was to completely bring my hair back to a fluffier state when it has gone a day without being washed. My hair is long and thick and takes some time to style, so I was really excited about this discovery, because going through the process with my hair everyday is 1, tiresome and 2, bad for my hair with all of the heat styling.

My disinterest in spending $20 for a can of the Oscar Blandi stuff sent me to the drugstore, where I started buying this Tresemme dry shampoo. It was OK, but not nearly as good as the Oscar Blandi stuff. I had bought 3 bottles at once so I was using them until they were finished. I had no plan for my future with dry shampoo, unless I wanted to just deal with it and shell out the cash.

Enter Jordan Reid. Jordan wrote, almost in passing, about Dove Dry Shampoo on her blog, Ramshackle Glam. I was really excited to try it out. Jordan also made a tutorial on dry shampoo, which I will embed here.

Here is the info on the Dove Invigorating Dry Shampoo. Which is LESS THAN 4 DOLLARS on Amazon. Amazing.

Better style comes through better care. That’s why Dove® has reinvented its styling collection to nourish and protect hair for a long-lasting, beautiful style.

Our weightless formula absorbs oil to transform hair from lifeless to bouncy so you enjoy style that looks and feels refreshed with a freshly-washed scent, even when you skip your regular wash.

This product is totally legit! I spray my roots, then I use my palms to sort of rub the product into my roots a bit. I let it sit for a minute or two and brush it out and BAM, my hair looks just as great as yesterday. Better even, is that the spray adds a bit of texture to my hair that makes styling a much better experience.

So naturally, I want to hear about everyone’s experiences with dry shampoo in the comments. Do you use it? If so, which brand? Have you tried this Dove version?

(I am in no way being paid to rave about this product, I just like it a LOT.)
